According to the requirements of clause A1.3.4.3 of the "Elevator Supervision Inspection and Regular Inspection Rules" (TSG T7001-2023), a speed limiter safety clamp linkage test shall be conducted on the elevator to observe whether the speed limiter and safety clamp actions are reliable. After the test, there is no damage that may have an adverse effect on the normal use of the elevator (replacement of friction and glass parts is allowed).
GB/T 7588.1-2020 states that the purpose of conducting a car safety clamp test before delivery is to "check the correctness of its installation and adjustment, as well as the robustness of the entire assembly (including the car and car decoration, safety clamps, guide rails, and their connections to the building).". Some manufacturing units in the elevator industry have previously conducted speed limiter safety gear linkage tests using rated speed during installation self inspection.
It is understood that leading manufacturing units in the industry have conducted extensive technical discussions and experimental research related to speed limiter safety gear linkage tests. The tests have shown that the progressive safety gear linkage test conducted at rated speed is a comprehensive performance test to measure the overall quality of elevator manufacturing and installation. It can play a positive role in improving the quality of elevator manufacturing and installation by:
1) Verify the actual protection ability of elevator safety clamps under real working conditions;
2) Improve the overall structural strength, manufacturing, and installation quality of the elevator car and guide rail system;
3) Improve the quality of on-site installation and commissioning of safety pliers and linkage mechanisms;
4) Verify the manufacturing and installation defects and deficiencies of other elevator components.
Therefore, this experiment can effectively promote manufacturing units to improve their manufacturing quality and installation quality control level, prevent quality degradation caused by bottomless lightweight manufacturing and on-site low-cost rapid installation, ensure elevator quality and safety performance, and establish a solid safety bottom line; At the same time, it can effectively promote installation units to comply with on-site installation processes, pay attention to installation details, and thereby reduce the incidence of elevator breakdowns during the running in period.
A large number of test results have shown that for elevators with qualified manufacturing and installation quality, after conducting a 125% load rated speed limiter safety gear linkage test, only simple repairs are needed to restore normal operation without causing serious damage to the elevator. The linkage test data shows that in most cases, the average acceleration on the side of the elevator car is between 0.2g and 0.7g, and the maximum instantaneous deceleration is approximately between 0.5g and 1.5g; When the car safety clamp stops, the average deceleration on the counterweight side is basically the same as that on the car side, and there is no problem of excessive deceleration.
The load test projects such as speed limiter safety gear linkage test have a large workload, and the test process may have significant technical differences due to different product designs, requiring close cooperation between inspection personnel and construction unit personnel to complete. According to the "Three Year Action Plan for Elevator Safety Construction (2023-2025)" (State Administration of Industry and Commerce [2023] No. 46), the inspection agency should contact in advance, proactively provide pre inspection services, and strive to complete such load tests together with the construction unit's self inspection after installation and completion, share test data and results, and improve inspection efficiency and service quality.
The speed limiter safety gear linkage test involves the smooth coordination of multiple aspects such as preparation and inspection before the test, weight loading, control system, driving host and brake action coordination. There are certain technical differences in the on-site testing processes of different manufacturing units. It is necessary to follow the basic procedures and precautions provided by the manufacturer for operation, and also encourage elevator or control system manufacturing units to develop automatic or semi-automatic speed limiter safety gear linkage test methods to improve on-site testing efficiency.
